Bringing home a new puppy is one of the most exciting times in any dog lover’s life. Raising a gorgeous, tiny scrap of a pup into a family dog and a much-loved companion is something we’ve all longed for. In practice, though, dog ownership can include more destructive behaviour, out-of-control moments and sources of anxiety-inducing embarrassment than Lassie and Rin Tin Tin led you to believe!
A puppy in their first few weeks of life is a highly impressionable creature - what they learn then can stay with them forever. I’m here to help from the moment you decide it’s time to bring a new dog into your life: to support you as you pick the right puppy from the right breeder, prepare your home, and begin the process of raising them and building a relationship.
It’s as much about you as it is about your dog - if not more! I’ll leave you with the tools you need to make raising a puppy everything you’ve hoped it will be.

PUPPY CONSULTATION
It’s never too soon to start preparing for your puppy’s arrival and setting them up for life. I can help you get clear on what you want to teach your puppy - and get prepared to teach it.​
​
This consultation is suitable for puppies anywhere between eight weeks and five months of age. The session will be tailored around your individual circumstances and lifestyle. Things we could cover include:

What a responsible dog owner needs to know
There is far more to dog ownership than simply bringing your small fluffy home and loving it until the end of its life (although that is a good start). You should also know what to expect from your chosen breed and how to integrate your new puppy into your lifestyle. Adequate husbandry, healthy nutrition and which laws apply to you now you are a dog owner. ​

Puppy's Arrival
I want you to be ready and hit the ground running, so we will speak about how to select a good breeder (if you haven't already), how to get your puppy home and make the first few days as easy on your puppy as you can. We also want to make this initial time easier on you by getting toilet training right as soon as possible and teach your puppy what behaviours are acceptable. ​

Training Your Puppy​
Once we covered how dogs learn, I will teach you how to apply this to training your new puppy. From making a start at teaching the 3 most important skills and commands to getting socialisation right, you'll know what to put your focus on in the early months.

Preparing Puppy for Life
Your puppy has a lot to learn and I want to guide you through the sea of confusing advice to help you raise a dog that is confident in new situations and can handle stress, takes vet visits in its stride, is safe around kids and a pleasant companion in public as well as at home.​

PUPPY FOUNDATIONS
With a focus on practical training, the Puppy Foundations session is suitable for puppies from 5 months. I will tailor this in-person session to the needs of both you and your puppy to teach new skills and iron out any emerging bad behaviours before they become habits. Things we could focus on include:​

PUPPY COMBOS
Training your puppy is an ongoing process and I am here to help you through the different challenges your puppy's developmental stages may throw at you. I will give you the tools you need to teach your puppy the skills and manners to grow into a confident and happy young dog.

Follow up sessions are available on an ad hoc basis as well as block bookings, while packages are the best value choice for the dedicated owner.

Training with friends can be fun for so many reasons. Some of the benefits include:

To train with your friends, I will come to a location near you. Depending on the age of the dogs in the group, we will focus on the most important areas of learning for your dogs' developmental stage and ability.
Strictly one dog per handler.
